Quran Contest for School Students Wraps Up in Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A national competition for school students on the Quran and Sunnah of the Holy prophet (PBUH) concluded in Saudi Arabia.

The contest was organized by the country’s education ministry in line with efforts to enhance school students’ capabilities.

It was also aimed at encouraging the students to learn the read the Quran, and to identify and prepare talented ones for international Quran competitions, Education ministry official Mohammad bin Saud al-Muqbil said at the closing ceremony.

He also congratulated the winners and appreciated the role of parents and teachers in preparing the students for such Quranic events.

More than 100 students from different parts of the kingdom took part in the final stage.

It was held in the categories of Quran memorization, Quran recitation and memorization of Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The education department in the holy city of Mecca hosted the final stage, starting on Monday, May 15.

Thirty Quran and religious experts served in the panel of judges of the competition.
